Far Infrared Ray Therapy

What is Far Infrared Ray (FIR) therapy?

Far Infrared Rays are a form of energy that are part of the electro-magnetic light frequency of sunlight that is not visible to the human eye.

These Far Infrared Rays are safe, gentle, and beneficial - unlike the damaging effects of short wavelengths such as gamma rays and X-rays.

NASA discovered how to generate (FIR) in the 1960's to keep astronauts healthy in space. (FIR) waves are the safest and most beneficial electromagnetic energy available to the human body.

How does body temperature relate to cancer?

“The relationship between our immune system and body temperature is very important. If our body temperature is around 36 degrees Celcius, our body will have  a sufficient amount of immune function.

However if our body temperature is around 35 degrees Celcius, our immune functions will decline. This is the optimal temperature for cancer cells to be active.

A 1 degree drop in our body temperature will cause our immune function to decline by 40% and a low body temperature will create an environment where various diseases can be active in our body.

Low body temperature means that your immune functions are declining and failing to protect your body. This creates:

1.     Imbalance in the autonomic systems.

2.     Decreased metabolism

3.     Lower production of ATP

4.     Decline in physiological activities due to lack of vitamins and minerals

5.     Inactivation of enzymes and poor blood circulation

Without enzymes, there is no life.

Enzymes are catalysts that stimulate chemical reactions in our body.  Starting from breathing, the heart beating and moving enzymes are involved in all of our body processes such as absorption, transportation, excretion and other functions.

In some parts of medicine we define death when the enzyme level is at zero. At low body temperature, enzyme activities will be inactivated. If there is not enough enzyme activity within our body, our body will not be able to produce enough energy. Then, our cells will start to age and their physiological activities will decline.

A 1 degree increase in body temperature results in a 40% increase in immunity and 43 degree Celcius causes cancer cell death.

Because cancer cells favor low body temperatures, it is favorable for our body to increase its temperature by 1 degree Celcius in order to create a body that is able to effectively fight off cancer cells. Increasing the body temperature by 1 degree is not the important issue. The important issue as to do with increasing our body temperature up to post-36 degrees Celcius so that our body can improve our immune system to fight off cancer.”2

Cancer cells are Heat Sensitive:

“Thermotherapy that heats up the body from the outside is very effective.

Since there is a low blood flow within the tumor mass, its temperature can be easily increased. Since the normal cells surrounding the tumor mass have a thermostatic function, their temperature will not be increased as much as the cancer cells.

Therefore, there will be a temperature gradient between the cancer cells and the normal cells.

When the tumor mass is at 42 degrees Celcius, it will become inactive. However, since a normal cell’s temperature is limited up to 40 degrees due to the cooling effects of blood flow, they will not be as affected as the tumor cells.

Since tumor cells do not have a sufficient amount of blood vessels, they are not under regulation of the autonomic nervous system. Therefore, they do not have enough blood flow, and they produce lactates and are in an acidic state. As cells become more acidic, they become more heat sensitive. When the temperature is increased to more than 42 degrees Celcius, cancer cells are more likely to die naturally.

When a cancer cell’s DNA is damaged by radiation and chemotherapy, it will become weak for a period of time but will soon recover. However, when the cells reach 42 degrees Celcius in temperature, their repair functions will be disabled and they will die off. Even though it may resist heat for a short period of time, repetitive treatment will cause its resistance to weaken.”3

Alkalinity

 
Why is Alkalinity an important alternative treatment for cancer?

Keeping the body’s pH in a balanced alkaline state increases overall health and vitality. 

How acidity creates cancerous cells:

According to Keiichi Morishita in his book, Hidden Truth of Cancer, when your blood starts to become acidic, your body deposits acidic substances in the blood (usually toxins) into cells to allow the blood to remain slightly alkaline. However, this causes your cells to become more acidic and toxic, which results in a decrease of their oxygen levels, and harms their DNA and respiratory enzymes.

Over time, he theorizes, these cells increase in acidity and some die. These dead cells themselves turn into acids. However, some of these acidified cells may adapt in that environment. In other words, instead of dying - as normal cells do in an acid environment - some cells survive by becoming abnormal cells.

These abnormal cells are called malignant cells. Malignant cells do not correspond with brain function nor with our own DNA memory code. Therefore, malignant cells grow indefinitely and without order. This is cancer.

What creates acidity?

The majority of the foods and drinks our culture consumes are acidic, such as meat, grains, sugar, colas and other soft drinks. Stress also plays a part in creating acidity in the body.

How do you create alkalinity in the body?

If you have cancer, it is important to undertake an alkaline diet, as cancerous cells cannot thrive in an alkaline environment. The following book has good information on how to do this.
However, the easiest thing to do, and most effective at quickly alkalizing your body, is to drink alkalized water.

How are negative ions important in creating alkalinity and as an alternative treatment for cancer?

*Blood Alkalization and Blood Purification
When negative ions are applied to the body, the calcium and sodium circulating in the blood are ionized. This changes the blood pH into an alkaline state and has an overall alkalizing effect on the body. The normal pH of human arterial blood is approximately 7.40 (normal range is 7.35 – 7.45), a weak alkaline solution.

Blood that has a pH below 7.35 is considered acidic, while blood pH above 7.45 is alkaline. Proper blood pH is essential for optimal health. It has been noted that the negative ions applied to the body are helpful in regulating pH.

*Reviving the Cell

When the amount of negative ions in the blood increases, there is an increase in inter-cellular communication. This arises as the cell membranes are opened, cellular metabolism is facilitated, and as a result there is an increase in cellular nutrient uptake and cellular hydration. In addition, cellular waste materials are more efficiently excreted. With the increase in cellular metabolism, optimal cell function is rapidly revived.

*Reversing Aging and Disease

Sang Whang, in his book Reverse Aging, says:
"In general, degenerative diseases are the result of acid waste buildups within us. When we are born, we have the highest alkaline mineral concentration and also the highest body pH. From that point on, the normal process of life is to gradually acidify. That is why these degenerative diseases do not occur when you are young. Reverse aging requires two separate steps: chemical and physical. The first step is to lower the acidity of the body so that it can dispose of acidic wastes in the blood and cellular fluids safely and easily. The second step is to physically pull out old stored wastes into the blood stream so that they can be discharged from the body."

There is a long history of reversing cancer simply by alkalinizing the body. It is one of the basic strategies in the battle against cancer and for improving your health in general.

What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy involves providing the body with extra oxygen. “The word 'Hyper' means 'increased' and 'Baric' refers to pressure.

The oxygen that we breathe normally contains 21% oxygen. Breathing in 100% oxygen under increased pressure within a hyperbaric chamber allows extra oxygen to be forced into the blood stream and dissolved at a much faster rate.

This allows the blood to transport more oxygen. This extra oxygen can help where healing is has become weakened due to infection or limited blood supply through tissue damage, as typically happens with radiation. HBOT helps new blood vessels, to grow, which enables the transport of additional blood.

HBOT strengthens the body's natural defense mechanisms to fight infection and kill bacteria

HBOT helps to reduce swelling that may occur around an area in which radiotherapy / radiation has been used.  A NY Times article from March 10, 2009 states that Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is “beneficial for patients whose tissues were damaged by radiation therapy

cancer patients, for example, who can develop oxygen-deficient wounds that do not heal well… Oxygen therapy is being tested in patients with new diagnoses of head or neck cancer to increase the tumor’s sensitivity to radiation treatments… Future studies will test benefits to patients with cancers of the larynx, skin and gynecological organs.”

The treatment is normally pain free and is carried out in specially designed chambers known as "hyperbaric chambers". There are two basic types of chamber: monoplace chambers and a multiplace chambers. A monoplace hyperbaric chamber for treating one person at a time and involves the patient lying on a padded stretcher that is then slid into a clear plastic chamber about 2ft in width. Once inside, the door is closed and the chamber is pressurized. Multiplace hyperbaric chambers can treat several people at a time.

HBOT sessions usually last from one to three hours depending on the nature of the treatment program. Treatment sessions are normally repeated over several days or weeks.

HBOT is increasingly being used for helping patients who have been subjected to conventional radiotherapy treatment for cancer and are now suffering the after-effects. A major drawback to radiotherapy is that, since it not only kills cancer cells but also nearby healthy cells at the same time, it can cause changes in the oxygen supply to tissues in the treated area, since less blood is supplied to the area. The result is that it becomes more difficult oxygen and essential nutrients to reach the tissues. Over a period of time these tissues can become very fragile, break down and ulcerate. Sometimes tissue can even completely die .1”

Hyperbaric chambers, used in hyperbaric therapy (HBOT), are any number of enclosures, which can be pressurized to allow a person inside to experience higher atmospheric pressures than the normal environmental pressures.  For example, a treatment at an elevation of 12,000 feet above sea level using a 4 psi (1.27 ATA) can simulate a decent of ~5,843 feet to 6,157 feet above sea level.

At higher elevations, the barometric pressure is lower.  This decrease of pressure also decreases the oxygenation of blood, and is known as anoxia—where molecules of oxygen exert less pressure on the walls of the alveoli (Dalton’s Law). Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) follows this law.

How does hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) work?


Hyperbaria - Increased atmospheric pressure as a means of increasing oxygen uptake without an enriched oxygen source
Hyperoxia - Increased total oxygen content

Hyperbaria is based on the concept of the relationship of gas pressure and uptake in liquids (blood, plasma and tissues).  Henry’s Law states that “a gas is dissolved by a liquid in direct proportion to its partial pressure.”  For example, at sea level, atmospheric pressure is 760 mm Hg, the oxygen concentration is 21% and the body’s oxygen content or partial pressure, pO2, in blood and plasma is ~ 40 mm Hg.

Red blood cells have a limitation as to how much oxygen can bind with hemoglobin.  The plasma portion of the blood typically has about a 3% oxygen concentration.

By placing someone in a 3 psi pressure hyperbaric environment, the increase in atmospheric pressure at sea level goes from 760 mm Hg to 915 mm Hg.  This increase in gas pressure increases the partial pressure of the oxygen gas and thus forces more oxygen to be dissolved in the plasma.  This saturation of oxygen in the blood, due to the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy or HBOT, allows the extra oxygen to be diffused or transported to the surrounding body tissues.  Thus, oxygen transport by plasma is significantly increased under hyperbaric therapy (HBOT).  At three atmospheres pressure, enough oxygen can be dissolved in the plasma to support the oxygen demands of the body at rest in the absence of hemoglobin!

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is designed to boost the supply of oxygen to ischemic tissue or to diseased tissues that respond to increased oxygen levels.  Increasing the volume of oxygen dissolved in the blood plasma, that is brought about by hyperbaric therapy (HBOT), produces five basic effects:

    * Reduction of volume of gas bubbles in the blood
    * Vasoconstriction, which reduces edema and secondary hypoxia
    * Restoration of aerobic metabolism to ischemic tissue
    * Detoxification of poisoned tissues
    * Enhanced phagocytosis

Henry’s Law- Henry’s law states that for a gas-liquid interface the amount of the gas that dissolves in the liquid is proportional to its partial pressure.  So Henry’s law helps to predict how much gas will be dissolved in the liquid.  The actual amount also depends on the solubility of the gas as well as its partial pressure.

Dalton’s Law-John Dalton observed that the total pressure of a gas mixture was the sum of the pressures of each of the gases if they were to exist on their own.
